I am a new user and only have a disklavier for play back use. I'm
only now starting to download music for the first time from whatever
sites I can find. I'm finding that often, but not always, that if I
download songs onto a floppy disk, only the first song with play on
the disklavier even though the rest are on the disk. Please instruct
me on what to do, or what I didn't do already. ------Thank you

I have a DGA1XG Disklavier Piano with a DKC100XG controller. I am
trying to load the most recent Flash ROM update that I downloaded from
the Yamaha site. The readme file says to push the play button while
turning the unit on and it will put you in the proper mode to load the
update. When I do this it does not go into the update mode. Anyone
have a solution?

You need to HOLD (not just push it) the Play button in while turning on the
Power button. Keep holding the PLay button until the update message comes
on. It will then prompt you for the update disk. Make sure you don't have
the readme file on the update disk!

I have tried that. No matter how long I hold it it continues to say
"insert disk". Any other suggestions?

I didn't look closely enough at your model number, but I looks to me like
you have a play-only disklavier. This controller box does not have flash
rom, so no updates are needed. It is a MarkII with XG tone generator; plays
Standard MIDI files format 0 on either double density or high density floppy
disks.

Yes, it is a play only model that you describe. I did not realize that
it did not have flash memory. Thank you for your help!
