PianoDisk CD's

Has anyone been able to play a PianoDisc brand CD on a Yamaha Mark III.

I have a friend that has a Mark IV and he can play PianoDisc CD's but I
have not been able to play them on my Mark III. I was wondering if
there was a problem with my player or only certin PianoDisc CD's will
play on a Disklavier.
PianoDisc has some very nice selections but I don't want to spend money
trying.
Maybe only older ones or newer ones will play?????
Thanks
Alan

I was told they do but to be sure call Freddie at Yamaha at 714-522-
9886. He is a great resourse. PianoDiscs are great but you may find
that the volume is a different level then the yamaha discs.

I did not think PianoDisc CDs, the ones with people
singing and also playing the piano, worked on a
Disklavier, but I could be wrong. I know that the
newer PianoDisc CDs will not even work on their own
PianoDisc systems until the software upgrade is
installed on both the CPU and the control box! At
least Yamaha never did THAT to their customers!

Re: PianoDisk CD's

I can play some PianoDisc CDs on my Mark III but not others.
Apparently the newer ones have a different encryption that the Mark
III cannot decode. I don't know how to predict which ones will and
will not work, so unfortunately I have purchased some that are
useless to me.

I wonder if there's any way to do a software upgrade on the Mark III
to overcome this problem?

Hi

There are programs that will convert different formats, have a look
at "Giebler Converters" on Google. Google found this site first go.
