Merry Christmas From Me and Dereck

Merry Christmas From Me and Dereck

2000-12-20 by Larry McKenzie

Merry Christmas everybody. Attached is a file that I tried to send a few
days ago and i don't think it got through. It is a large midi file with
lots of christmas music recorded by my friend Dereck Barnes a few months ago
when we were practicing at my house in anticipation of Christmas gigs. I
just started the recorder and let it run then deleted the blank spots. Hope
you enjoy it. If you do please send Dereck an email at dbac@... and
let him know how good he is.

Thanks, Larry.

To Larry McKenzie,

I am basically a computer-what-is-it kind of person, but I just downloaded
your Christmas file to a floppy (somehow!) and I can't thank you enough for
a wonderful Christmas present. The music is superb and an hour of
Christmas time filling our home makes for a spectacular season. What a
miraculous instrument the Disklavier is, and with a network of folks like
yourself, it makes it even more unbelievable. For me, and for all who take
the time to experience your gift, thank you, Merry Christmas and Happy New
Year. I'll send a similar message to Dereck who will live at our home for
years to come!

I second that emotion! Played it all last night and plan to use it heavily for the balance of the season. Superior to any of the commercial Xmas recordings I own. You might also upload the file to the vault so it remains available for group members in perpetuity. Thanks again to Larry and Dereck!

Derek and All,

I agree with all that John said about the midi file of Derek Barnes' Christmas music that was attached in an e-mail to the news group by Larry McKenzie. I downloaded the file, converted it to an ESEQ disk, and played it yesterday. It is certainly the equal, if not better, of any of the commercial Christmas music for the disklavier which I have. Derek and Larry are owed a big "thank you" from all of us on the forum.

I want to also second the comments that John made about the disklavier community being a wonderful group. I purchased my DC3IIXG about this time last year after hearing from many of the members of this forum regarding their experiences and feelings about owning the disklavier. It has been a wonderful purchase which has induced me to take up playing the piano again. I listen to software virtually every day on my disklavier and only regret that I did not buy one several years earlier.

Todd, we all owe you a big thanks as well for setting up the eGroups disklavier forum. I find the questions and comments on the forum to be quite helpful. So...I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you fellow disklavier owners and enthusiasts a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and a special thanks to all who have shared music and ideas with the forum throughout the year.

I so wish that I had this on the 9th for my husband's Christmas party. It
is the most beautiful music, quite well done. Better than any thing
available commercially. Bravo.

Dear Larry - I was searching for Christmas music for my Disklavier and ran across this old post. Sadly, the attachment is not available. Do you still have the file, and if so, can you attach it again please? I would be very grateful, and chances are others in the group would be too.

Thanks in advance. (And here's hoping you're still a member of this group!)

Hi Larry,

Please count me in on that as well. It certainly would make for a great
early Christmas present.

Thank you in advance,

Glenn
