microphone jack?

microphone jack?

2007-04-01 by samvogt

Hi,
I have a less than a year old DC1 and wondering if I can hook up the
microphone to the Disklavier speakers. I have 1/4" jack on the
processor under the piano. Anyone ever use it? My daughter wants to
sing and play at the same time. Thanks for your help. Sam

The Disklavier amplifier has aux inputs for the left and right side, but
they are line level
in (I've also had some hum problems trying to use them, so I just
reverted to using
additional speakers).

You can get a little preamp like:

to hook direct.

Alternately, consider a portable (small format) mixer that provides
1 or 2 microphone preamps. These provide additional features,
flexibility and can be purchased for between $45-80.

For a mixer with a single mic preamp, check out the Behringer UB501:
www.behringer.com/UB502/index.cfm?lang=ENG

The Behringer UB501 is available for $44.99 at Sweetwater:
www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/89249/

As another suggestion, if you can find the Alto S-6, it's a greater
little mixer with 2 mic preamps and sells for about $69:
www.altopa.com/default.asp?p1=4&p2=0&p_id=18
www.directproaudio.com/product.cfm?directid=53252

Direct Pro Audio has the newer Alto AMX-120 for $84:
