Setting up Apple Express with Mark IV

Thanks Matthew for the quick response to my  problem.

I have reviewed the  settings in  Airport Admin  Utility.  I did see various options for setting 
the Apple Express.

I see  "Create a Wireless Network (Home Router)" in the pop-up. 
I see where to set up  Airport Express as a WDS "remote base station". 

I did not see a place to set up my  Home Network (Main  Base Station) to WDS.

A support page on  Apple says "Wireless Distribution System is another way for AirPort 
Express to join an existing Wi-Fi network. AirPort Express uses its Ethernet port and can 
offer its wireless access point in WDS mode, but it requires that your other access points 
be AirPort Extreme and/or AirPort Express. Client mode's advantage is that you can join 
the networks of non-Apple access points and earlier AirPort base stations ("Dual Ethernet" 
and "Graphite" models).

I do not have the Airport Extreme model.  I have the older model.  So I  may have to 
replace my current Main  Base Station in  order to set it to WDS.

I will investigate this further unless you have a suggestion.

I have an original Airport Extreme base station as my main base  
station. Sorry to say I have no experience with the earlier base  
stations. As far as I know, WDS is the only way to set this up so  
that the Express will act as a bridge.

Matthew, 

Thanks again for the quick response to my question.  
It seems that may be the only way to hook the 
disklavier to wireless connection  to internet using
 the Airport Express/Extreme hardware and will 
probably buy  the newer Airport Extreme hub as 
we will need to do so in the future when we upgrade
 our  current Macs.  

I suspect this will  lead to setting up our home
 network with new IP  Address from the new 
Airport Extreme box once it is installed.  Such  
technical  headaches, but glad my headaches
 are with Apple equipment versus PC.  
Always wonder what other people do without
 some  technical expertise to get all  their hitech
  gadgets working?

After attempting the setup last nite with  
current base  station, I decided that the 
purchase of Airport Extreme base station
 was probably inevitable.  When I rehooked
my ethernet  as a direct  connection  to Mark IV, 
it did  not pick up the internet connection.  
Not until I remembered to reset my portable to
sharing via ethernet did I solve this problem. My
DH was sure I had messed up our lovely "disklavier
radio".  But all works again.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
