How do you connect to Disklavier Radio and or Internet Direct Connection

How do you connect to Disklavier Radio and or Internet Direct Connection

2007-09-07 by orangele2003

I have been trying for the last several days, and many hours to figure
out how to hook up to these services to my Mark IV, but have not been
successful. I looked at the V2.0 users manual, and it says to sign up
for IDC online, which I did succesfully (can log on to the Yamaha
website, and it says that I am registered and able to access IDC). It
also says that you sign in to these services via the handheld remote,
but I cannot find any screen or menu on the remote to do this.

I have hooked the piano to a hard-wired ethernet connection to the
internet. What am I not doing?

Re: How do you connect to Disklavier Radio and or Internet Direct Connection

On the screens of the remote you should see the list of various options ... one is
internet ... tap on that one.

Then you should see where it says that it is trying to connect to internet ...

once it makes a successful connection ....

I believe you will be able to select Disklavier Radio,
it may ask for the password at that time or sometime along the way.

You can listen to the sample radio station or songs or choose a category
such as broadway, classical, pop ....

Hope this helps.

I cannot find a screen with internet as an option. I have gone
through every option/screen/choice on the remote (about ten times),
and nowhere can I find internet as an option.

Do you see the Main screen on your pocket remote.

It gives the following options in bubble type ovals

FD, CD, USB Media, REC on the left hand side
At the bottom of the next column do you see NEXT?

If you touch the "Next" button you should see another screen with
Metronomes
Vocal Harmony
Internet
From to PC
in the left hand column

Touch on "Internet"
See if you can get this far. Maybe we can use the chat option of this forum if you need

I know exactly what you are talking about, but my remote has no "internet" bubble. I guess I will need to wait until I get my formal education from the store rep on Monday to figure out why this option does not show on my remote.
Thanks,

Good morning, everyone.

Tim, am I correct that you installed the 2.0 update on your Disklavier?

If so, did you also update the PRC100?

I also suspect that the interface may not have been updated - on the main screen (before you star up the disklavier interface), go to "Interface Updater" and check your version numbers. If it finds newer versions than you have installed, just select them and go to "Update".

Re: How do you connect to Disklavier Radio and or Internet Direct Connection

Tim,

Yes, you might make sure that your pocket remote control has the correct version of
software or update to V2.0. It may be that the piano was not upgraded to V2.0 yet or the
piano was upgraded but the pocket remote was not. I'm sure that you could reinstall the
V2.0 software and get the "internet" screen you need to access the Disklavier Radio.

Once this is done and you get Disklavier Radio going, you should also try sending a midi
file via WIFI to your disklavier using the To/From PC bubble button.

Re: How do you connect to Disklavier Radio and or Internet Direct Connection

2007-09-07 by jheitzeb1

Actually if you transmit midis, you don't actually use the To/From button to transmit the
midi, you use it after the download via WIFI to retrieve or listen to the midis you
transferred.

You may find that you don't see the midis that you transferred via WIFI in the directory of
the To/From page after selecting that button. You will need to use the function button of
the To/From page to select "Refresh" and then any midis you transferred will appear in the
list and you can then play the midis or copy them to your user library or albums.

Hope this is not confusing you. But this WIFI transfer of midis is a very nice feature. You
avoid having to transfer via floppy disks. I think you will find this option a nice feature as
well.

Can't wait until you hear the Disklavier Radio play your piano ... know you will enjoy this
feature.

Thanks for your reply George. I am out of town right now, and away from the piano, so I cannot check the version of my software. When I get back, I have my appointment with the local dealer rep, and hopefully he can help me resolve this.
Thanks for your input!
