midi files with latency or cheesy backgrounp sounds.

I have collected some midi files from the web and transfered them to my Mark IV, but many of them have tempo issues where the songs run at inconsistant speed, others have cheesy background sounds i would like to convert to piano. Is there windows software i can use to easily recompile these files to optimize them for my piano?
