Wireless communication between Laptop and Disklavier

Anyone tried to use an iRDA adapter on the To Host port of a disklavier to communicate with a laptop that has an iRDA port without any wires? Seems like this could be a useful thing to do. Is there an adapter that works for this purpose? I am currently using a Roland UM-1 USB-Midi interface and this works well, but it would be nice to eliminate the wires.
