Greetings Phil,

I believe PianoBench answered your question. Specifically, his response
indicates that the DKC850 is intended as a replacement for the DKC500RW
which you mentioned was the controller for your Millenium DC3 Pro Disklavier

Regards,

Robert

Hi,

I have the same control unit as Phil (DKC500RW) but I believe when upgrading to the DKC850 you loose the specific PRO capabilities (record and playback of Midi XP files). Is that correct ? The DCE becomes a normal (non-pro) model then....

Regards,

Good afternoon, everyone.

You are correct about this issue of the DKC-850 downgrading your Pro. You do still have a superior playback system as far as the hardware is concerned, by you loose the ability to recognize the high resolution XP data on playback. And, you lose the option of sending and receiving XP data using the MIDI ports. However, it appears as though you can record XP data.

For those who find this to be of concern, I recommend that you contact Bill Brandom at Yamaha: bbrandom@...

Regards,
PianoBench
