mute rail from PianoDisc?

mute rail from PianoDisc?

2011-03-11 by jcagle

Does anyone have experience with the mute rail from PianoDisc (PianoMute option)? Does it void the Yamaha warranty? Does it have any negative effect on the sound of the piano when not engaged? Does it change the action (when not engaged)?

I just purchased a DGC1B with a Mark III and would like the ability to silence it (I need a lot of practice), but I don't want to harm this beautiful instrument!

Thanks,
John

John,
Several years ago I had a mute rail installed in my Yamaha by a qualified technician. My wife loves it. There is no downside to this modification, no impact to the sound when disengaged and when engaged using a headset you can have all the voices, wonderful.
