Connecting Mark III to home stereo

Connecting Mark III to home stereo

2012-08-18 by Dave

I'd like to connect my Mark III to my home stereo for better quality audio than the speakers underneath the piano. I assume I need to plug audio cords into the aux out holes on the amplifier.

The problem is that these holes don't accept normal RCA connectors (the ones used to hook up stereos). Does anyone know what kind of connectors are used with the aux out (and in) holes?

I used cable # 42-2547 from radio shack. They have different lengths though

Thanks much, Alan. It didn't occur to me that the aux in/out uses 1/4-inch "guitar cable" connections.

I've hooked up the stereo and it sounds wonderful, improving the audio quality significantly over the Disklavier speakers. It also adds three-dimensionality to the music, spreading the musicians out across the listening space like a live performance instead of having them all concentrated at (or under) the piano.
