Disklavier MX100 upright piano LCD screen out

2012-08-22 by Anthony Kong

Hi,
My MX100 LCD recently been 'blank' out, it can't display the character anymore, the backlight (green/yellow-ish) still display but the 'black' character doesn't show.

The player function works just fine and the separate LCD screen that shows track number works; the only trouble is I can't see the song title on the rectangular shape LCD screen. Anyone have this issue before? What's the best way to fix it?

Anthony

Yes, I have had this same issue with my mx100. I was able to purchase a replacement display from Yamaha over the phone from there technical support group. About $200 if I recall. I installed it myself. Not too bad if you are familiar with basic electronic/ mechanical repair. The display basically plugs in with a connector. There are quite a few screws to remove. Don't loose them or drop them into the piano! Good as new!

Regards,

Mike
