<Stoopid question alert>  ( I'm not a technician)

I have been having trouble with the gate output female jack on one of the
Q108 VCA's.

I opened it up and the recepticle that the jack male inserts into and
connects with has broken.
(Hope you know which bit I'm talking about !)

Question is ..I'll get someone to de-solder the two connections... but do I
use a stereo or mono replacement ??..somebody said a stereo one was more
stable ??.

Also.. are there different qualities ??...any recommendations ??
