Re: [dotcomformat] Synth.com knobs (was More Miniwave Chat)

2005-10-07 by Larry Hendry

Sorry I have been so quiet on the subject. I have been sorting and
shipping 800 Stooge cables. :-)

Cosmo corp is the right place for the knobs. I have purchased knobs
from them about 4 times. They assign you a sales rep. I think the
internet guys name is John Parks or something similar. Anyhow, if
you inquire at their website you will get an answer.

I have purchased both of the dot com style knobs. (round and
pointer). I used the pointer on my 822 interval switchers. I used
the dot com knobs on some CGS wave multipliers (dot com format) still
in the assembly process. I also sold some to the guys that bought
panels from me. I have not offered them for sale separately just
because I did not want to be in that market. But, to support panels
sales, I felt it was a nice touch. I sold them for $2 each. I think
I paid $1.35 or something like that.

Some of their knobs have 100 minimum quantity. Some have 250. I
usually buy 250 or 500 as the price breaks are decent.

You will have to select options when you buy them. You have to tell
them EVERYTHING or you do not get what you want. For example, set
screw can be screw driver slot or allen. Get the slot. Does the
white dot get painted yes/no? Does the top get the aluminum disk?
Do you want the brass insert? The brass inserts are nice but not
really required. And, normally getting the brass inserts pushed the
minimum quantity to 500 or more.

So, be sure to note the codes for all the options so you can continue
to get the right knobs. Do I have some? Yes, I think I have around
80 extra. I do not want to sell them because I will trade them to
Paul for MOTM knobs when guys order his modules behind dot com panels
(which I will be supplying) so they get a good deal instead of
forking over $4 each to Roger.

Be prepared to pay up front (you have to send a check as they will
not do credit cards). I think I waited about 3 weeks for delivery.
But, that varies.

Good luck.
Larry
