Blacet Filthy Filtre is FILTH-TASTIC!

2006-01-02 by Dana Countryman

Hi All,

I just finished the Blacet Filthy Filtre yesterday, and incorporated it into my (mostly)
Dotcom system. I LOVE IT.

I have 6 other filters -- all the Dotcom's, plus others from various companies, and I can
already say that next to the Q-150 Ladder Filter, the Filthy will be my other favorite filter.
It is very "Moog-y", with a lot of snap. I like the fact that it has a very aggressive Q-factor.
I know I'll be using this filter a lot, and I'm really glad I went to the trouble to get it and
assemble it.

I used the MOTM-style panel I bought from the late Larry Hendry's estate, and then,
mounted that onto a blank Dotcom panel. I used my Dad's assistance to carve out a huge
rectagular hole in the back of the blank Dotcom 2-U panel to pull this feat off. It worked
great, and the "Filthy" nestles nicely along side of my other modules (mostly Dotcom.)

Unlike its' name, the Filter doesn't strike me as particularly distorted or filthy. It just has a
lot of character.

I put a photo of the finished module in the "Dana C." folder in the photos section of this
group.

I highly recommend this filter, if you want a nice compliment to the Dotcom Ladder Filter.
