Looking at the schematics, it would seem indeed that both the CD4046 linear vco's should be set up with 1/4" switched jacks such that a standard (Q106) vco under keyboard control, 1/12th volt/semitone could be patched into the arrangement. Other places to add switched 1/4" jacks would be the Smooth and Woggle vco's, the rate cv mix, the disturb inputs, and so on... Keep in mind that the PLL's action somewhat limits the usefulness of arranging for external cv to affect the circuit, but also note that the complexity-extension (by adding external cv) can produce a myriad of cascading wave actions. The Bug isn't really designed to be "played" in the traditional sense of the Well Tempered Clavier! In truth, the Bug is not exactly a traditional sonic element that appeals to the left-brained thinking musician. Rather it is a bit of a wildcard, being able to add to the control mechanisms that are possible would give wider acceptance of it's use. Having the keyboard be an element in the "seeding of factors" is what we really want to achieve - such that the player has more input than just the control adjustments, something a bit more familiar to the usual keyboard player. I'm fairly sure that the assertion of breaking the normal gestalt of cv by keyboard was offered in the spirit of adventure, as a way of encouraging people to think outside the box, so to speak. Cheers! -Erik
