I'm sure that it sounds different than the Encore, and I believe that it has greater shifting range than the Encore. Again, it's kind of like with ring modulators: They all sound like ring modulators, but they don't all sound identical. The Encore sounds clean -- I imagine that it's cleaner than a decades-old design -- and it's very nice for chorusing effects (using very small frequency shifts) as well as more drastic effects. Don't forget, the Encore is in MOTM format, not dotcom/Moog format. John
