i have the alesis bitrman that stg mentioned and it does say it's a frequency shifter. i'm not sure if this is true though. My comparison on the alesis bitrman's frequency shifting effect to that of the boss ps-5 super shifter's pitch shifting effect shows that the boss unit has a much higher level of articulation when it comes to speech. I had assumed that this was due to alesis trying to stuff all of those functions into one box making it slightly lower quality.. but perhaps they ARE indeed 2 different effects. both of these digital units produce aliasing effects when the signal has a large amount of harmonic content. i was hoping to find an analog solution.. but i'm sure the eventide and the TC unit are of a much higher quality than i'm accustomed to. thanks to everyone putting their 2-cents in on this subject. it's the best way to learn i think. --- In dotcomformat@yahoogroups.com, John Mahoney <jmahoney@...> wrote: > > STG, don't you mean "there are also a lot of digital effects processors which have *pitch* shifting"?
