MOTM = 4 pin .156 MTA (+15,GND,GND,-15)
Modcan = 3 pin .156 MTA (+15, -15, GND)

The level difference can be a problem occasionally. At times I like to
drive my VCF hard and a +/-2.5V signal won't do it. Easily remedied.
If the VCF has two inputs for audio, patch the same signal into both
inputs. That will double the level giving you +/-5V. Don't have two
inputs on your VCF? Use a mixer module to add the signal to itself.
You could also use the Inst. Interface.

  I'd reckon 75% of the time the level difference is of no consequence.
