Anybody have any thoughts on Moon's new modules?

Yes. My thought is that I would like to buy the voltage controlled envelope. Has anybody here tried this module? --- In dotcomformat@yahoogroups.com, "mastertnslw" <tmdav@...> wrote:

I own a pair, but must confess that I've had little time to experiment with them since they arrived. :-( Gordon ----- Original Message -----

I only own the M564 sequential switch (so far ;-) but it's really great! Moon Modular is a very professional company that makes great products and I would never hesitate buying anything from them. (the only reason I haven't purchased one of everything they have is lack of funds on my part! ;-) John -----Original Message----- From: dotcomformat@yahoogroups.com [mailto:dotcomformat@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of eyjolv Sent: Sunday, March 15, 2009 4:00 AM To: dotcomformat@yahoogroups.com Subject: [dotcomformat] Re: New Moon Modular modules Yes. They aren't really new, but I have both the M563 trigger sequencer and the M564 sequential divider switch and I like them both a lot. The devices appear to be well-made and add a lot of value for sequencing. I should also mention that Moon's customer service has been excellent. They ship items promptly. There was a small design flaw with early versions of the sequential switch. They notified me of the problem (I hadn't noticed it myself) and offered to fix it if I wanted to send it back. I'd eventually like to get a pair of the voltage controlled envelope generators from them, but I haven't gotten around to ordering them. -John

As I recall, it was possible to pick up a DC offset under some circumstances when the switch changed sources. I don't think I have a copy of the letter they sent out anymore, so my memory on this could be off. I never noticed it myself, so I'm not sure how hard the problem would be to reproduce. -John

I have one of everything so far except the 511c and 526 which I have pairs of. (I even talked them into a 591 which is not quite on the site yet. Actually the 525, 526s and 591 shipped 3/3 and I am still impatiently waiting for them.) So far I have really enjoyed all of their stuff. I am thinking about having the 563 upgraded to V2 and getting a 563 E at the same time. WTH it is only money. The VC EGs are particularly wondrous.
