No...

and after looking at the website, and going through the pathetic minuscule audio files, I can't imagine WHY anyone would want any of this product line... I was going to refrain from being harsh... but I have decided to no longer sit back and not voice my modular educated opinion... but out of the 100 audio clips, there isn't ONE useful represented file... blips and burps, less than a fraction of a second... how is ANYONE supposed to get an idea of what the product actually does?

Not to mention, looking at the photo section, if you are a manufacture of a product line, WHY on earth would you have another person's product in one of your panels, and then show it on your website??? That makes NO business sense to me what so ever... but Im sure Dieter Doepfer appreciated the FREE advertisement of his product line on YOUR website...

The cabinetry looks very cheesy at best, pressboard with a laminate... can you get any cheaper? Plus it is usually heavier...

So in my 2 cents and 2 cups of coffee, it's not even worth bookmarking the website... Roger's product is 1000 % better in all aspects.

PS: if I were a guessing man, I think this is a "self promotion" of the product disguised as a question...I think the poster either KNOWS this company or works for them in some fashion, as this message is also cross posted in the dotcom group as well...

Well, I'm afraid you guessed wrong. I'm not at all affiliated with the manufacturer...I found this product line, had never heard of it before, and simply wanted some outside opinions. I actually posted the question on the dotcom forum first, but having received no response there thought I'd post here as well.

But hey, thanks for all the assumptions and negativity. Just what we need in the modular community!

for the record, i think the Curetronic stuff looks cool but i'm way
too skint to buy any.

if Mr Curetronic would like to trade for modules with me i'm totally
up for it. i think they look pretty useful, but are obviously not the
way i'd make them look.

i'm pretty delighted to see so much in this format right now. IMHO
the future of modular is Moog/Synthesizers.com format and EUrorack.
let's make it happen.

Re: [dotcomformat] Re: Curetronic modules

2009-03-26 by Markk W. Roberts

After working with modulars for over 25 years, I felt that I was "qualified" to voice an opinion. Compared to other modulars out there and available, and based on their demo's and websites and product appearance, quality, and pricing, I made an observation, and an educated opinion about the line. While it was not favorable to your liking, based just on the facts and the product alone in a "comparison" with each other, I think many others would agree with my assesment of the line. But I wont quote them on that, as they would have to make their own judgement.

But since you seem to think I am "neagtive" on them, do this comparison alone to see the strength and validity of my statement... Go to all the other manufactures websites and listen to their audio demo's only... and compare them to those found on the Curetronic website. Can you "honestly" tell me you can get a good representation of a sawtooth waveform produced by the oscillator and filters offered by them?

Let's also add the fact that "if" indeed they would like a share of the USA market, the website should be in both English and German... I found it a bit difficult to find what I was looking for just because of the navigation I could not understand.

Just by your response of somewhat "defensive mechanism" only strengthens my belief that you have a fondness for this line, and maybe are friends with someone close to the product... you asked for an opinion, and I gave one.
