MacBeth modular

Re: [dotcomformat] MacBeth modular

The Web site is out of date; Ken has unfortunately decided not to pursue the 5U format.
He's instead developing Eurorack modules, with the larger knobs and panel spacing that one would associate with 5U modules. He's also contemplating a rack that would house a number of Eurorack modules, include a Kenton MIDI-to-CV converter and provide mini- to 1/4" patching.
Analogue Haven is taking pre-orders for the dual osc module: http://www.analoguehaven.com/macbethstudiosystems/xseriesdualoscillator/

Check this out...he does say they're "5U" compatable, but no mention of widths or electrical specs.

NoNoNO...shit...Why not 5U modules. I was listening to the sound demos
of those modules ...and it sounds so good...
EuroRack ...it feels and looks like toys

Here's a thread of MuffWiggler where he talks about it.

From page 6:

"Now, regarding the 5U modules- the reason that appear they not to be going ahead is the lack of response. I have worked pretty hard at the circuit design, styling etc. to all but a very poor response! Things went silent. I do know that some of you out there would like the 5U modules to happen. Both the 5U Dual Oscillator and the 'backend' filter were all but ready...

After all this work, quite a few people started asking if the 5U stuff could be made into a 3U format- not just on here- but directly! I've had to scratch my head! I guess that one, commercially, has to follow demand. Things have worked out well that way. I also had to consider the distributers too- only one, Andreas Schneider expressed a positive interest in the 5U format. Andreas is of course, still interested.

If people are seriously interested in having the 5U MacBeth modules available- please let the dealers know- those being Shawn at AH, Andreas at Schneiders' Buero and Richard Lawson at RL music..."

I think that Ken MacBeth must show more what is going on in his bussines
on music forums, and we must help him to spread the info.
there will be more intrest of the 5U MacBeth modules if more people now that they exist...
