Hi Group /new with a problem/Please help

2005-01-18 by Chris

HI,

I am new here and the proud owner of a Machine Drum and a Mono Machine SFX.
I am beginning to work very hard on my new material right now and am having a problem.
There is a high pitch tone coming through the outputs of both machines at a low level, but
enough to be recorded and annoying.
It does not sound like grounding, it sounds to me like digital sync noise.

On Machine Drum there seems to be 2 tones coming at once.
One is around 1k and the other is around 8k.(I tried filtering and found that.

After recording just the noise and normalizing it (wouldn't recommend listening to that!)
it is a horrifying cluster.

This tone comes from all outputs except from headphone.

I am plugging directly into the audio interface and bypassing my board.
I do that with my Virus as well and there is no problem.
Itried bringing the outputs into the board to test that and it is still there.

I am using Logic as the masterclock and then using internal sequencing on Machine Drum
and Mono Machine.

Does anyone have a clue what this is? It is making both of these great machines unusable.

Please help

Thank you,
Chris
