I think it's perfect as is.  the key is that it's designed for interactive
sequencing more than playing.  so when you sequence something, you simply
move over a foot to the keys, play it, then move back to the sequencer and
tweak the sounds to hell and back.  this way, you're not constantly
stooped over the keyboard, trying to reach the sequencer and controls
while you're tweaking.
