I would try MD->G2-> Live and not introduce any possible extra latency 
from the software.  that way you know that if the MD and G2 are in 
sync, the only part you need to tune up is Live.

Or alternately run Live->MD->G2, and tune the audio latency on Live to 
match what gets played in midi.  I'm not familiar with the ESI cards / 
drivers so I don't know what kind of performance to expect from that.
