go to the record store and listen to lots of vinyl on the 
headphones. buy some vinyl and copy the format used by experienced 
producers. that's what they do. sometimes you'll go through a really 
complicated process to come up with something simple. if you don't 
know where to start go get some depeche mode remixes or something...
