My wish for this was inspired by my use of the Next Loop copy function on the Echoplex Digital Pro. I respect your call for me to think about user interface since a feature without a viable user interface isn't a feature. So, how about: Hold down bank key. Press stop/paste. Press key for destination pattern. A slightly less versatile approach that does the duplication at copy time would be: Hold down the function key. Press record/copy. Press the destination pattern for a duplicate. This would insist on staying within the same bank of patterns and would move the duplication to the copy operation. Either would work for me. I'm new enough to the Machinedrum that I'm probably missing something that these sequences should be allowing, but a quick test didn't seem to indicate functionality that would be severely inhibited by such a change, In either case, it would be nice at the duplicate step to show which patterns already have data. In the first case, this is actually already being done since the paste would just be a shortcut on the front of pattern selection.
