This is why: In the past 15 years Roland has basically tried to sell us their sound canvas 150 different ways. Their whole approach to making music machines is to put out sounds for the more mainstream producers of electronic music, and for the less discerning, in many instances. Heck, their 3 most famous machines - 808, 909, 303, we're basically mistakes to their eyes, as they did not accomplish what they wanted. Elektron, on the other hand, has precisely the opposite approach to making instruments. Machines that are well constructed, that have the ability to create new sounds, and that make no compromises.
