When I received my MD-UW I didnt really expect much. When I tried it out it immediately showed me that this is a new Diamond in my setup. First thoughts I had when I heard about it: 1. Sampler, nice, but do I need it? 2. Only 32 Samples thats not very much 3. Midi transfer? Oh man. 4. Will it sound good? These are the answers: 1. I have been working mostly with samples since a few years. The UW is really a new way of working with samples. The samples really come to life, because it is so easy and fast to change the parameters and it is so much fun. 2. I loaded 16 samples into the Machine, to fill one set. I was playing around for 3 hours, I forgot to eat, drink and smoke. And still I had the feeling I could make another 4 Songs out of these samples. Of course it is a limitation to have only 32 Samples, but you dont really feel it. The only thing you feel is that it is exactly this limitation that will bring you to new results and stop you from spending your time on bullshit. 3. Midi transfer is no problem because you can transfer all 32 Samples at one time. It doesnt even take much time because you mostly use short samples. To transfer 32 samples might take 5 minutes, ok. 4. I was really surprised by the sound. The samples sound more crispy and dynamic when they come out of the MD than when you hear them on your computer. What is that about, how did they do it? I cant help myself, I just think its phantastic. Roland, Yamaha, Akai and all other companies finally can close their business now, they have fooled us for too long anyway. best greetings Flo -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
