Re: pattern automated midi controller data to computer sequencer

2005-07-24 by ryan

Ronald,

"You can't. Parameter locks are only used internal and not send out
thru midi. The only way you can use these self made patterns are in
audio format. This will probably sound very restricted but give it a
try. I always record my patterns as audio tweaking some knobs,
muting,
switching patterns, adding fx on the fly. After that I edit the
audio,
cut out the bad pieces and add some other stuff if needed in a PC
sequencer (logic). It's a different approach to making music, but I'm
glad I did try it since it's a so much more creative way for me now."

Hey Ronald thanks or the info - i greatly appreciate it. I am
somewhat disappointed as I really wish I could just send this
controller data over for further edits, etc within songs making
slight variations and transitions much more simple. I will certainly
give the straight audio recording a go with my patterns created
soley on the machine but will likely attempt to record future
automations live via midi in the studio as that has always been my
favorite :).

Thanks again for the assistance.

Ryan
