Re: [elektron] MachineDrum Questions

actually, dense analog bass kicks aren't quite the
MD's forte.

It will do almost endless varieties of intersting,
sculptured kicks, with many textures and
characterisitcs. Many (many many many) of which would
be considered very cutting edge, avante-garde.

But if you are an analog kick fetishist...the jomox
mbase is an excellent kick module that would really
complement the MD.

I would think of the mbase as an extra "machine", and
sequence it with the MD, along with its internal
machines. Its really easy, and they play well
together.

The MD does not do a convincing analog snare either.
It will come close, but in 3.5 years of looking, no
cigar. Again, many great varieties of snare, but not
the classic analog (although a combination of multiple
FM and E12 machines will get you fairly close)

The MD is a digital monster, and everything that that
entails, which is why it's so powerful. But it is not
an analog drum machine.
