Elektron Musical Instruments

I guess it would be the old soundblaster card in one of my old pcs :)
that's about as mainstream as i think you can get.

i don't quite see why you would exclude the mono from being
"mainstream" (whatever that is), it does after all use mainstream
synthesis albeit allowing several different techniques.

plus a drum synth is pretty mainstream too ;)
