as one of the admins of this group, I'll have to step in and note that
this group does not have much file storage. when the contests were
happening,
I had to use my own personal web space to store the old contests. in
fact, one
of the main reasons that the elektron-users.com site was created was
to allow
the contests to function much easier and to a wider audience. also,
there are
several people over there that would love to contribute who don't
even read
this list. so my suggestion would be to move the contest over to
that web
site. there's more storage there as well as room to make comments on
individual submissions and a more extensive voting system. the
contest can
occur here, but i don't know if i'll be able to archive the
submissions and
i think the audience will be much smaller.

also, one of the rules of the old contests was that you were allowed
to use the
CTR machines as well. this made things MUCH more interesting and the
submissions were WAY out there and I personally learned a ton from doing
my own as well as downloading others' submissions to see how they did
what they did.

one of the old rules was also that sysex uploading is required.
this makes it more of a learning experience instead of just a contest.
others can learn MD tricks of yours that you otherwise might not have
even
thought to share in the normal forum.

also, there's usually a time limit. something like 45 seconds or a
minute
is pretty fair and even and will keep file sizes reasonable.
anything less than 45
seconds makes it very difficult to create decent entries.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
