You bet!  Magic Touch will respond to anything that sends Note On  
messages.  This includes the Trigger Finger, MPD16, etc.

There is a CC-based companion to Magic Touch called Magic Wheels.   
The two processors are almost identical, but Magic Touch responds to  
Note On velocity (the initial velocity at which you hit the key/pad)  
and Magic Wheels responds to a MIDI continuous controller.

You could easily create a Magic Touch configuration to respond to the  
velocity at which you hit the pad and a Magic Wheels configuration to  
respond to the CC-based pressure data that is sent by the pad after  
you have hit it.
