Yeah, it does seem kinda strange, but I value my machinedrum more than my laptop :) I guess my reasoning is that I can't do a show without a laptop, but I can sample my md and use it - why bring more gear than you have to, especially when you've got a big setup. Luckily, we're usually on a stage, so the laptop is pretty safe. It did survive shows at Burningman a few years back. I run windows with live and reason (and sometimes I record the sessions with Soundforge, all at the same time. Never had a problem. Date: Fri, 7 Apr 2006 19:58:10 -0500 lol.. that's what i was thinking, but really i've thought about getting a low-spec laptop should i ever go back into the clubs again (about 99% unlikely). Under Windows (and perhaps the new intel Macs??) Live is extremely forgiving as far as processor use goes. Unfortunately the only laptop I have right now is this Powerbook and you can bet it's not going anywhere near anywhere i've ever been on some saturday nights. I'll never forget the morning of revelation when i had volunteered to take home some sub cabinets in my explorer the night before, but didn't do the smart thing and immediately remove them as far as possible from my vehicle upon arriving home. talk about the definition of "stank."
