just a tip guys...every piece of crap gear (with cheap components)  
you introduce into the signal chain is going to affect the sound of  
your MD.  Low quality DACs, wobbly clocks, compressors that lose the  
attack transients, etc. all negatively affect the signal quality.  If  
you've spent $1000 on a drum machine, think twice before running it  
through a bargain bin compressor or and expecting great results.
