Definitely get the power supply from Elektron. Way back when, there was a discussion on the list about the power supply. So I ordered one. Cut the noise level in half at least! I had come to terms with the noise level when I got the Sidstation originally, but with the proper PSU it's ALMOST not necessary to use a gate...unless your doing some serious recording. Also, instead of using a threshold type noise gate. I use my old Bass Station Rack as a midi controlled gate. Then you get an extra envelope and an extra filter! I love having the extra filter on the Sidstation to soften it up for the sweet strings and sweeps. :) Peter Ehrlich -- http://home.pacbell.net/grain http://homepage.mac.com/gretagrain/ gretagrain and gretagrain2 on AIM icq# 30567191 grain@... grain_la@... > From: rogers@... > Reply-To: elektron-users@yahoogroups.com > Date: Tue, 03 Jul 2001 04:07:59 +0000 > To: elektron-users@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [elektron] preferred power supply unit > > There was a mention a while back in this list of how much better > the PSU (power supply unit) supplied by Elektron with later units > is than, say, the Radio Shack model that meets Elektron's > specifications.
