I made the same mistake but it was pretty simple rolling back the TM inf driver to the previous (XP format) driver through the Control Panel device management options.

Doh, the manual states no drivers needed for XP !!!
gues ill figure it out when i try...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
