Still, it's annoying. It's one of those things where there was probably no
way to know it was going to happen until the TM-1 started shipping.

You know, what's weird is mine came with the manual on top of the padding, no marks. I got mine a week or so back. Are there any signs that yours had been opened and searched? A customs official may not be sensitive to this particular arrangement...

Nah, the seal on my packaging hadn't been broken...
It looks like the marks are from the package being squished...
The TM-1, looks like someone took it and scrapped it against the manual for a few hours...

not a big deal 2 me, the marks eventually wiped off with some wiping..

What's your ZIP? I'm hoping for an arrival in 77034 pretty soon, but
considering we're basically locked down under a storm and flood now it may
not have happened. I ordered about half a second after the E-Friend
announcement.

Mine definitely had not been opened when I got it, and the manual was
on the TM-1. I'm sure it's just one of those things that Elektron
didn't think would happen when they were packed, and after all the
complaints here, I'd bet it's already been fixed.

you guys make me thinking about checking one aswell...
i havent seen why highspeed midi should improove a by
the software, os or hardware fucked up clock timing...
but fast transfers are maybe a convieneint way to get
the permanent flux of the MD under control.
I however would have preferd to pay the double price
for a 2 in 3 out unit..because thats the usual minmal
amount of midi connections you need on stage...all
extra equipment you can handle with thru connection...
But MD ..Keyboard ... Expander out...... Thats the
package of midi interface i need.
Maybe it would be a good product for elektron to make
a bigger version based on the allready done
development time..
When its clever done there would be a market far
bigger than just adressing UW users.

offset delays for clocks are great..I enjoy my MD in
the moment with 32 ms clock delay... Its just that
exept live no other sequencer gives you the option to
delay individual interfaces..and so you always catch
the midi jitter of live by using delayed clock
technics.
Doin the delays on hardware level would be much more
decend and platform independend.

great idea... 5 powersupplys...3 midi interfaces...a
usb hub...
Its all the little things that make a stage setup a
hazzle.
in the moment i use an emagig mt4..
All midicables and usb stay conected to it...
I just deconnect them on the machines and wind them
around the housing of the mt4... works well, packs
well...and is very quick to setup and remove...
cant anybody invent wireless midicables?
ups...i just did :-)...now i only need to mary the
offspring of a chinese industrial and flood the market

Got mine too on Monday, smudged as well. No biggie.

Now I made the mistake of installing the TM-1 reg and inf files for WinXP
on my W2K machine and now I get BSOD everytime I connect it or boot up the
machine with it connected... I haven't had a chance to fix this but I
think I just have to uninstall the hardware instances from the Device
Manager. Hopefully I'll get to do that tonight.

I made the same mistake but it was pretty simple rolling back the TM inf driver to the previous (XP format) driver through the Control Panel device management options.
