Yeah, that's where we fucked up (1.05b or somewhere around I think).
We had to change the memory layout of the chord notes, and forgot to
update the factory reset image. That caused real troubles, and people
who saved patterns starting from a factory default reset using that
version got them screwed up when reloading them on later OS:es.

We've had to pay for that and in the upcoming OS (still some beta
rounds left) we've had to spend endless hours to do filters that tries
to make sense of what was dumped out.

If you start with the latest OS there are no real showstoppers.
Unhappy people who sticks with older OS:es because they can't reload
their saved patterns without problems will hopefully all be happy with
the upcoming OS. If you're in that situation you could contact support
to get the current beta with the functional filter that recovers all
problem-patterns we've received at support so far. It need to do some
real detective work to do so though...

Of course there are more things in the next OS, but we've focused on
both the Machinedrum and the Monomachine to get to a stable base
level, not introducing features before we've sorted out all possible
problems that have been reported. Some fixes open up new possibilities
  though.

The new Machinedrum OS is already available for download at the
support page of the Elektron website!
