Hello, after upgrading my MnM to V1.07 I have to say that using the updated machine for several weeks now I didn't encounter any real bugs... What do you guyz think,V1.07 most stable OS so far or do you prefer the previous OS? Cheerrss

Yeah, I agree. It has few bugs though, but many of them are going to be ironed in the forthcoming os update. Nothing serious. My MnM hasn't crashed once, ever, so I can't comment on that. I only had issues with the factory reset on 1.06... - Sampsa / texmex Lainaus tiwe1975 <timwel@...>: > Hello, after upgrading my MnM to V1.07 I have to say that using the > updated machine for several weeks now I didn't encounter any real > bugs... > What do you guyz think,V1.07 most stable OS so far or do you prefer > the previous OS? > Cheerrss > > -- ____________________ Sampsa Lehtonen

Yeah, that's where we fucked up (1.05b or somewhere around I think). We had to change the memory layout of the chord notes, and forgot to update the factory reset image. That caused real troubles, and people who saved patterns starting from a factory default reset using that version got them screwed up when reloading them on later OS:es. We've had to pay for that and in the upcoming OS (still some beta rounds left) we've had to spend endless hours to do filters that tries to make sense of what was dumped out. If you start with the latest OS there are no real showstoppers. Unhappy people who sticks with older OS:es because they can't reload their saved patterns without problems will hopefully all be happy with the upcoming OS. If you're in that situation you could contact support to get the current beta with the functional filter that recovers all problem-patterns we've received at support so far. It need to do some real detective work to do so though... Of course there are more things in the next OS, but we've focused on both the Machinedrum and the Monomachine to get to a stable base level, not introducing features before we've sorted out all possible problems that have been reported. Some fixes open up new possibilities though. The new Machinedrum OS is already available for download at the support page of the Elektron website! new machines! new machines! something like a vocoder sounds great, lets hope they have something special for the next year. i will install the os and check it out, the old os's are very buggy specially when recording live (record+play) or using the midi channels

yeah, will there ever be a form of "userwave" for the monomachine??? for me honestly, all i would love to get from a future OS upgrade is the ability of choosing polyphony modes like mono/poly per track, or assign polyphony notes to tracks. > --- In elektron-users@yahoogroups.com, Niall Munnelly <aleph@...> wrote: >> >> All new machine wishes aside, it's always great to hear a >> company put bugfixes ahead of features. Nice call. An overdub record mode would be nice, too. -- Yours, Niall. .. . . . . . . . . . Aleph-Null. coz the other i was thinking "ok if i use 4 tracks for machines and 2 tracks for effects, i'll use 4 monophonic notes, but what happens to the other 2!?!?!" :) > On Thu, Dec 07, 2006 at 07:56:05AM -0800, roby@... wrote: >> yeah, will there ever be a form of "userwave" for the monomachine??? >> >> for me honestly, all i would love to get from a future OS upgrade is the >> ability of choosing polyphony modes like mono/poly per track, or assign >> polyphony notes to tracks. > > Nice call. i'm not complaining about the effects. just that it is too bad the unused polyphony doesn't get used because of DSP limitations... > On Thu, Dec 07, 2006 at 03:21:22PM -0800, roby@... wrote: >> yikes... > > Why yikes? Sorry, let me rephrase - FX aren't cheap in the DSP sense - they use the same resources as the Mono's voices. I didn't think you were complaining. Get yourself a more open-architecture tool, like a Nord Modular or TC FireworX, and you can really bang your head against DSP limitations ;) > > On Thu, Dec 07, 2006 at 03:21:22PM -0800, roby@... wrote: > >> yikes... > > > > Why yikes?
