I'm at My Wits' End, Here

Let's say I have as bassline, and I want a periodic octave
jump.  Preferably in one direction, but even if I have to
deal with the occasional deep basses, it's a start.

So, my bassline, which may look like this:

    0       0       0       0       0
0       0       0       0       0
==========================================

would look like, say, this:

==========================================
                    0               0
    0       0               0           
0       0       0       0       0
==========================================

Have any of you managed to do this with the LFO tuned to
pitch?  If so, would you please relate how?

I've just about reached the conclusion that it can't be
done, but I hopw I'm wrong.
