actually......makes me think.  Maybe you cold try some 'upside down'
compressed air to freeze that damn bug in it's tracks, then you can
just gently shake your MD with the 1/4" jacks on the bottom and try to
shake the bug outta there?   Goofy, I know..but why not?

you might also try something a little more intellectual... If it is an
ant, then put some yummy food outside of the MD by one of the 1/4"
jacks, and watch him find his own way out of there.  You should also
leave the MD off, as the bug might have liked the warm environment and
have been attracted to the smell of some of the boards when warm in
the first place.  Between a cold MD, and a piece of fromage on the
outside of it, you might let the bug do the work for you....  better
than breaking encoders over a silly insect!  :p
