I'd go with empirical labs' FATSO everytime. It can be a great balance to the electronic edged sounds from the MD

i would reccomend the FMR RNC if you want transparent compression,
and if you want colored compression go for the FMR RNLA the products
made by them are very good quality and have a small footprint. i have
quite a few high end comps from emperical labs and neve, the fmrs
still get used all the time. i have never tried the MD comp for
vocals but i dont really care for what it does to the MD compared to
the FMR comps.
