Ok, ok... off my lazy ass. I notice "distortion" on the generic sin machine above about 90 with the main level at tick number six, but only on the attack of the waveform. Turn the envelope release up to 127 so the note never ceases, and I only notice distortion at high values above 120 or so - and it's pretty faint. The distortion comes during the AD stage - slow down A and D, and you can hear the distortion come and go, and this happens every time you trigger a note, but fades away once you get to about the release stage of the envelope. My guess is that the level of the AD stage is higher than that of the release stage kind of like it is in a traditional ADSR envelope. Perhaps someone at elektron forgot to normalize the waveform amplitude taking this additional level into account for the sin synth? just keep the volume low if you want smoooth, harmonic free sines. -gerald On 5/9/07, Niall Munnelly <aleph@...> wrote: > > On Wed, May 09, 2007 at 11:44:28AM -0000, tahvenaine2002 wrote: > > > > I guess you are asking, if it should hit precisely to -0dB VOL at 127. > > No, I'm asking for the volume at which a single, dry SIN machine > distorts, thanks. > > Numbers from someone, anyone, would be appreciated. > > -- > Yours, > Niall. > .. . . . . . . . . . > Aleph Null.
