Well, you do as you please. For the regular version of course the rom and ram machine differences do not apply (since it doesn't have them in the first place). However, think about it before you decide not to buy UW. I m h o, the ram machines especially are fantastic! Don't use them that often, but when I do, I can often easily get results (sometimes pretty unexpected results as well, in a good way) that would have taken me seriously long to program in a DAW. Of course, if you feel that you won't use it, then get tre regular one, but the UW is pretty sweet, even though the memory is a bit limited. Then again, if you have Battery and Kontakt, you wouldn't use it to play big acoustic multisampled drumlibrarys anyway... \Patrik www.cutpaste.org On 12 aug 2008, at 17.54, Ben Humphrey wrote: > neat. thanks for the info Patrik. i'm getting a mk II that isnt a > UW..... > does that mean the rom slot and ram machine differences aren't > applicable? > 2.5 mgs of sample memory seems pretty small anyways. i think. i've > never > used hardware samplers, just soft synth samplers like Battery and > Kontakt. > i guess you can cut drum hits into tiny, tiny little wav files tho. > > thanks. > > -0behn desu0- > > On Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 7:03 AM, Patrik Rydberg <rydan@...> > wrote: > > > A few differences. > > > > 64 steps sequencer in mk2, 32 in mk1 > > > > More Rom slots and 4 ram machines instead of 2 (and 2,5MB sample > memory, > > as opposed to 2MB) > > > > DC power, meaning, at least in theory, that battery power is > easier to > > achieve.
