Yeh, the CPU on the SS is like the same one in a wrist watch or something...
I believe someone said 2Mhz...  I imagine these were used to keep cost down,
but like you I would have preferred the MOS chip to be maxed out before the
CPU was.  Of course this might have required a 25-50Mhz CPU, but I would
have been willing to pay for it.  Unfortunately I need hardware modules for
live work, and I am not about to lug a PC on stage - nor a laptop.  So I am
happy with the SS as it is, although knowing it could have been pushed
farther does upset me a bit.  But nothings perfect.
