I was thinking today how nice it would be if there was
a bank of function keys where you could store different
data for immediate call up. It could be data such as mute
settings or effects settings. One could perhaps press
function+drumpad to recall the settings. This would well
increase the sophistication of the sequencer for use in
live performances.
A parallel idea would to be to have a kind of function
machine that could be programmed into the step sequencer
like any other machine. Each time it's triggered it would
change some set of parameters. It could perhaps even have a
duration so that you could modulate paramaters for a couple
beats or bars.
on another note, I tested out my MD for the phantom noise
on the auxilliary outputs. Yes, it is there but it is
hardly noticeable, and in no way does it decrease the
utility of the instrument IMO.
