Well yes, if you have no source of percussive sound (or a bunch of synths)
then a sampler is a great choice.
Modern samplers have synthesis capabilities, but don't expect a juno from 1
sample ;)
But you can indeed make all of your music on a sampler ..

Self oscillation of a single looped waveform can be an interesting approach
to make your sampler do synth sounds.

yes yes .. a great slapping lofi sound :) (i love the way it makes the
signal sound so crispy) :)

well, if the chip distorts internally you get this ripping, cooking sound ..
which is great :) .. on some sound, however, it can be quite harsh and
undesirable...
