Okay, first, does anybody else find it humorous that this thread about 
off-topic messages is just as off-topic as any of the off-topic threads 
being complained about?

Second, last time I checked policing content was the job of the Moderators 
-- not the lay-users.  If anyone's really that concerned, I'd advise 
sending off a quick message to the referees rather than generating noise 
that will have little effect beyond the general entertainment of the group.
